How to use Proxy Browser Extention with Proxy Manager

There are two options to connect Bright Data Proxy Manager with the Proxy Browser extension:

  • By using the Proxy Manager users created in the Control Panel
  • By using Whitelisted IPs settings

Proxy Browser Extension usage with the Proxy Manager, User:Password based authorization

Required settings

  • Open your Control Panel
  • Click on the "Settings" icon (looks like a gear ⚙), then on the "Account Settings."
  • In the "Proxy Manager Users" section, click on the "+ New user" button.

  • In the opened pop-up, you can add multiple user email addresses separated by a comma ","

  • Passwords for the new proxy manager users will be created automatically.

  • Keep the tab open, or save the required passwords to a safe place.
  • Open "Proxies and Scraping" (looks like a pin icon 📍).
  • Open the "Proxy Manager" tab.

  • Open your Proxy Manager server by clicking on the "Open Server" button.

 

  • Create a port for your Proxy Browser extension user, targeting the relevant Proxy Zone (follow the opened port creation dialog).

  • Open the "General" tab in the created port settings.
  • Click on the "Multiply proxy port per user" toggle.

  • In the opened pop-up, select all users that you would like to grant access to the proxy manager port.
  • Click on the OK button.
  • Scroll up and click on the "Save Changes" button.

  • If you are using Cloud Proxy Manager, copy your Cloud Proxy Manager domain.

After the above steps, you can log in to the Proxy Browser Extension

Log in to the Proxy Browser extension

  • Click on the "Connect through the Proxy Manager" button

  • Type into or paste your cloud proxy manager address (looks like pmgr-customer-CUSTOMER_ID.brd.superproxy.io), or on-promise Proxy Manager IP address, and click on the "DONE" button

  • You will see this message:

Pairing your extension with the Proxy Manager
Your IP has not been approved yet. Please contact your account admin to pair the extension with the Proxy Manager
You can also sign in using username and password

  • Click on the "Sign In" button

  • Use your user and password you've prepared in the previous step
  • Click on the "Sign in" button
  • Start using your Extention

You will get access to all ports that you have allowed for access to the specified user, in the previous step.

 

Proxy Browser Extension usage with the Proxy Manager, whitelist based authorization

Required settings

  • Open your Control Panel
  • Open "Proxies and Scraping" (looks like a pin icon 📍).
  • Open the "Proxy Manager" tab.

  •  Open your Proxy Manager server by clicking on the "Open Server" button.

  • If you don't have any ports yet in the Proxy Manager - create at least one port with relevant settings
  • Open the "Settings" tab of your Proxy Manager
  • Add required IPs to the "Admin whitelisted IPs"
  • Click on the "Save changes" button

After the above steps, you can log in to the Proxy Browser Extension

  • Click on the "Connect through the Proxy Manager" button

  • Type into or paste your cloud proxy manager address (looks like pmgr-customer-CUSTOMER_ID.brd.superproxy.io), or on-promise Proxy Manager IP address, and click on the "DONE" button

You will get access to all Proxy Ports of the Proxy Manager
